「ナイスガイズ」、のような「ナイスムービー」を見るのは久し振りだ。だいぶ太った中年おやじRussell Croweとポンコツ・イクメン（イケメン）Ryan Goslingの最高のバディー物コメディは面白すぎる。けれども、決して浅い映画ではなく、劇中の「メッセージ付きポルノ」みたいに、価値観や政治観を上手く埋め込んでいる。
例えば、Ryan Goslingは決して娘の素行不良を許さなかったり、ヒトラーに例えて悪人たちを罵ったりだとか。基本この映画の登場人物は、良い事をしようとすれば運が付き、悪い事をすれば必ずパニッシュメントが待っているとなる。それも人だけではなく、車メーカーが環境問題を隠蔽するなら、衰退して日本車に超えられるよと「預言」したもの。これは監督が伝えようとする一番のテーマではないだろうか。
「つまらない」と評した人も多く見られるが、その人たちはおそらく悪行に天罰が降りる事を理解していないか、分かっているがリアルに悪い事していてこの映画を見て不安になった、のどっちかだろうね。

冗談をさておき、麻薬戦争というのは重くて深いテーマだ。この作品の中、今の時代そして麻薬問題をいろんな形で表現した。アメリカとメキシコの間に国境がと同じく、善と悪の間にボーダーラインもある。悪を退治するため、自分自身も越境して悪に染めらなくてはいけない。この境地を表したのように、国境を貫通する地下トンネルは暗く狭く、息苦しい。しかしそれが我々が通らなくてはいけない道だという。正義感の強い主人公にとって、このポリシーもなく、武力に頼る手段では、果たして本当に正解なのか。この苦境は、麻薬だけではない。民族・宗教・戦争、我々の身近く存在する問題と紛争も、こうしてすべて解決するはずがない。

Antoine Fuquaの作品をいくつ見てきて(Olympus has fallen, The equalizerとか)、アクションを取るのにものすごく上手いのに、社会問題や政治問題に手を出しがちという。メッセージ性とかどうでもいいからちゃんとアクション映画作れや。。とか思ってしまう。Shooterはまさにこのような映画で、一見真剣に正義とか、愛国心とか言いたいことあるようだが、根本的にリアリティに欠けるので、見てるうちにいまいち「映画だな」と感じている。逆にThe equalizerみたいにスカッとするような架空ストーリーは大好き。
次の作品、どうでしょう。7人の侍から復習しようか

oh、ちなみにMichael Penaの間抜けキャラ最高に楽しくてよかったね

話のベースとなる設定はグチャグチャだけと、それを深く考えずに、リラックスしながら見るのか一番良いでしょう。もしろその方が色々楽しめる。
なぜかというと、目の前に起きている「映像」に対して、時にそれを信じるように暗示をかけたり、時にそれを疑えと促したり、監督のコントロールはとにかく半端ない。もちろんそれは、観客と主人公の主観を同期させるための技に間違いない。
見どころをまとめると、こうな感じでしょう：
- 可愛女の子の主人公と男二人の共同生活、意外と健康的。。
- ストーリーが進むと、「やっぱり」が来たの五分後にまだ「やっぱりそうじゃないな」になるとか。。
- 主人公の戦闘力の半端なさ。。（火炎瓶の威力に脱帽。。）
- エンディングの意味について衆説ありなので、ぜひご注目を。。
