なぜかというと、目の前に起きている「映像」に対して、時にそれを信じるように暗示をかけたり、時にそれを疑えと促したり、監督のコントロールはとにかく半端ない。もちろんそれは、観客と主人公の主観を同期させるための技に間違いない。
